Salida Capital Corp. (‘Salida’) is a Co-Manager of the BluMont Canadian Opportunities Fund.

Founded in December 2001 by Mr. Daniel Guy and a core group of professionals, Salida is an investment management firm based in Toronto.  Salida employs 18 professionals including a team of 8 seasoned investment professionals fielding the largest resource team in Canada with industry experience ranging from 10 to 25 years, including a full-time geologist.   Most of the team have experienced multiple commodity cycles, have extensive relationships throughout the industry and have knowledge of resource properties around the world.

Salida aims to achieve absolute returns with performance goals taking precedence over assets under administration.  Partner capital invested in Salida funds presents a significant portion of assets under administration.

Daniel Guy

Mr. Guy with a core group of professionals founded Salida Capital Corp. in December 2001.  Mr. Guy brings with him over 10 years of investment experience.  With a background in equity research followed by a transition to equity trading, he has been exposed to the full range of responsibilities in running alternative investment management portfolios. Mr. Guy is Chief Investment Officer of Salida and is responsible for North American and Global investments as well as portfolio risk management.

Brad White, CFA

Mr. White joined Salida Capital Corp. at its inception and is a portfolio manager with a strong background in the fundamental analysis of the global energy sector. Mr. White started as a Research Associate with Burns Fry Inc. in 1993.  Over the ensuing five years, he progressed to Vice-President Equity Research at TD Securities Inc., where he covered the oil and gas sector. Prior to joining Salida, Mr. White was with Morgan Stanley Canada Limited, as Vice-President Equity Research where he was responsible for coverage of Canadian exploration and production companies.
