David Iben is the lead portfolio manager of the Exemplar Global Opportunities Portfolio. As Tradewinds’ CIO, David helped launch the company’s international investment platform. Prior to joining Tradewinds, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nuveen Investments, LLC, Mr. Iben spent six years at the company’s affiliate NWQ Investment Management Company, LLC. Prior to that, he was CEO, lead portfolio manager, and founding member of Palladian Capital Management and, a senior portfolio manager at Cramblit & Carney. David began his career with Farmers Group Inc. where over the course of 14 years he served as senior analyst, lead portfolio manager, and director of research for both equity and fixed income strategies. David received a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of California, Davis, and an MBA from USC Marshall School of Business. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1984 and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Los Angeles.
